Send messageTippiti turns your recording into a finished document. You speak as you normally would, and Tippiti writes up the text that you would otherwise have to prepare yourself or ask someone else to prepare.
The form depends on the recording. A dictation becomes a finished medical text. For conversations and assessment interviews, Tippiti works as an AI medical scribe: a conversation or interview becomes a transcript or summary, and an assessment interview a structured case history and interview section. You choose the form you need when uploading the recording.
The idea is simple. A recording is not yet a document. Tippiti handles the step in between.
Speech recognition itself is largely a solved problem today. The difference lies in the stages that follow:
Your own rules feed into this: abbreviations, date formats, formatting requirements and text replacements are stored once as an instruction group.

Yes. An ambient scribe captures the doctor–patient conversation and turns it into medical documentation. With Tippiti, you record the conversation on a smartphone or dictation device and upload the recording.
Depending on the mode, you receive a transcript with speaker labels, a summary of the key points or, in Assessment interview & case history mode, the structured case history and interview section of a medico-legal report.

Tippiti is designed to process medical dictation, conversations, interviews and assessment interviews for medico-legal experts, doctors and medical transcription services.
The AI is designed around their particular requirements: the language used in medico-legal reports, medical terminology, dictation commands and specific conventions for structure and formatting.

Yes. In Assessment interview & case history mode, Tippiti uses the recording of the conversation between a medico-legal expert or doctor and the person being assessed to write up the structured case history and interview section of the report, in reported speech. For patient records, Conversation & interview mode is the better fit. It turns the doctor–patient conversation into a transcript or a summary of the key points.
In most cases, Tippiti requires considerably less manual revision than conventional speech recognition. The output is close to a final text because it has already been corrected, formatted and validated.
You can make any remaining adjustments in the editor, which provides extensive formatting options, or with Tippsi Chat. The chat can rephrase entire paragraphs, change formatting or restructure content on request.

Tippiti was developed to meet the strict requirements for handling medical data:

Yes. As part of registration, you enter into our Data Processing Agreement under Article 28 GDPR, which includes confidentiality obligations. You can view the Data Processing Agreement (German) at any time.
Further information, including how Tippiti can be used as a subprocessor by medical transcription services, is available on the Privacy & AI page.
Tippsi Chat is an AI assistant available directly in the editor. You can give it instructions in natural language, for example:
Each change made by the chat automatically creates a new version. You can accept or reject the change, or compare it in the diff view.
The editor offers extensive formatting options: bold, italic, underline, headings, numbered and bulleted lists, tables, text colours, highlighting, text alignment, various fonts and sizes, and much more.
The editor also provides find and replace, undo and redo, and keyboard shortcuts for all common formatting options.
Yes. When copying text from the editor, Tippiti can automatically insert non-breaking spaces in the right places. This prevents unwanted line breaks between elements that belong together, for example:
You can choose which rules apply in the copy options and save them as your default.
Use the copy function in the editor. You can choose whether to copy the text with or without formatting:
In addition, you can set whether non-breaking spaces should be inserted automatically when copying. Your preferred settings can be saved as your default.
You can upload Word templates in the editor and add a short description to make them easier to organise. A template can be a blank document containing only the letterhead, logo and styles, or a complete example document. Tippiti extracts elements such as fonts, heading and paragraph styles, headers and footers, logos and table styles.
When exporting, you select the appropriate template. Tippiti inserts the finished text, and you download the resulting Word document.
You can create as many templates as you need, for example one per client, report type or letter type.
Yes. Templates can either be available globally in every folder or assigned to specific folders. If you work for several clients, you can create one folder per client and link it to the relevant template.
If a recording appears in several folders, the export menu shows all templates assigned to those folders as well as all global templates. You can then select the appropriate template when exporting.
Yes. You can ask the chat to turn bullet points, lists of findings or other content into a table. It can also adjust existing tables by adding columns, removing rows or restructuring content.
Simply describe how the table should look. The chat creates a new version with the change, which you can review before applying.
Yes. Using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+8 or via the toolbar, you can display invisible characters: paragraph marks, spaces, non-breaking spaces and line breaks.
This is particularly helpful when checking the document structure and ensuring that formatting has been applied correctly.
Every change to the text is saved as its own version, whether transcription, AI correction, manual editing or a chat correction.
You can switch between versions at any time, compare two versions side by side (diff view with colour-coded changes) and restore an older version if needed. Nothing is lost.
Instruction groups are custom rule sets that guide the AI correction. They let you control how Tippiti processes your recordings, including preferred abbreviations, date formats, ICD code notation and formatting requirements.
You can create several instruction groups and select the appropriate one each time you upload a recording. This allows you to produce an output tailored to each client.
Many Word templates that have evolved over time use direct formatting, for example, setting the font manually in each paragraph instead of using styles. Although technically less robust, this is common in day-to-day practice.
Tippiti uses heuristics to infer the intended formatting, for example where the defined heading style does not match the text that has been formatted as a heading.
Processing cannot be guaranteed to be completely accurate in these cases. If you encounter problems, review the exported document in Word and consider restructuring the template to use styles instead of direct formatting.
Yes. When creating or editing a template, you can choose to share it with sub-account users. It then appears automatically in their export menu.
Sub-account users cannot delete or edit shared templates. Only the template owner can. They can also upload their own templates, which only they can see.
The price per character depends on the processing mode: €0.50 per 1,000 characters of the finished text for Dictation and Conversation & interview, €1.50 for Assessment interview & case history. No base fee, no subscription, no minimum term. Every user pays the same price.
You can find more details in the pricing overview.
No. There is no subscription or minimum term, so there is nothing to cancel. You simply top up credit and use it without any ongoing commitment.
You purchase a character allowance in advance. The number of characters in each finished text is then deducted from that allowance.
You can pay by credit card, PayPal or EPS. Optionally, you can set up automatic top-up: as soon as your allowance falls below a threshold you define, it is topped up automatically by credit card.
Yes. In the settings you can enable automatic top-up. You set a threshold and a top-up amount. As soon as your character allowance falls below the threshold, it is topped up automatically by credit card.
This helps prevent your balance from running out and allows recordings to be processed without interruption.
Tippiti supports all common audio formats: DSS, DS2, MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, WMA and more. Recordings from Philips and Olympus dictation devices are also compatible.
No. Tippiti is a web application that runs entirely in the browser. All you need is an up-to-date browser on a computer, tablet or smartphone.
Tippiti automatically optimises the audio file before processing and is designed to handle challenging recordings. Sections that are particularly difficult to understand undergo targeted reprocessing.
Usually a few minutes. The exact duration depends on the length of the recording and the current workload. Because Tippiti uses a multi-stage process with correction and validation, it takes slightly longer than producing a raw transcript, but the result is considerably closer to a final document.
Yes, a single recording can be up to six hours long.
Yes. Tippiti uses current state-of-the-art models that handle German accents and dialects well without additional training, including Swiss German, Bavarian and Saxon. This capability has been standard in modern models since around 2023 and is not unique to Tippiti.
What sets Tippiti apart is what happens after the initial recognition: multi-stage correction, fact-checking and the application of custom rules. Recordings with a particularly strong dialect or poor audio quality undergo targeted additional correction.
Yes. You can create sub-accounts for staff, each with their own permissions, without having to share your login details.
Access to recordings is controlled through folder sharing or direct assignment. This lets you define exactly who can see and edit which recordings.

You can organise them in folders and subfolders, for example by client, department or project. A recording can appear in several folders at once.
Folders can also be shared with sub-accounts: the sub-account then automatically gains access to all the recordings they contain.
Yes. Tippiti notifies you by email as soon as a recording has been processed. Notifications are also available for many other events:
All notifications can be enabled and disabled individually.
Yes. Sub-account users can configure their notifications independently of the main account. For example, a medical typist can receive an email when a recording is assigned to them or when a recording in a shared folder has finished processing.
Conversely, the main account holder can be notified when a sub-account user adds a note or marks a recording as completed. This keeps everyone involved up to date without manual follow-up.
Yes. Create a shared link and send it by email or message. The recipient does not need an account.
Optionally, you can protect the link with a password and set an expiry date.
The recipient can read and copy the finished text, download the audio file, view notes and, if permitted, mark the recording as completed. Your copy settings (e.g. non-breaking spaces) are applied as the default for the recipient.
Yes. You can upload several audio files at the same time. Settings such as folder or instruction group can be applied to all files at once, so you don't have to configure each file individually.
Yes. For each notification you can add up to 10 additional email recipients. The recipients need no Tippiti account of their own.
For example, your accounting team can automatically receive a copy of every paid invoice without having to log in to Tippiti.
You can configure the additional recipients separately for each notification type.
Yes. The privacy options let you specify which content may appear in emails for each notification type. For example, you can hide the recording title or the content of a note.
This is particularly relevant when additional recipients are configured and sensitive information should not be sent by email.
