There are two ways to document an assessment interview.

If you want a verbatim transcript that preserves the dialogue and every change of speaker, Conversation & interview is the right mode. If you want a case history section that reports what the person being assessed said from your perspective, choose Assessment interview & case history.

Assessment interview & case history does not simply write the dialogue down. It writes it up. “Well, it really started back at school …” becomes “According to the examinee, the complaints began during their school years.” Questions and answers become a coherent, report-ready account written from your perspective. Tippiti automatically recognises who is speaking.

The outline

Tippiti knows the outline of your report.

When you upload the recording, you select the report type, such as a psychiatric report, another speciality or the Swiss IV assessment report. That determines which headings the case history and interview section contains, in what order they appear and what belongs under each. Tippiti assigns the statements from the conversation to the appropriate sections and clearly identifies any section that was not covered in the interview.

Psychiatric report

The established psychiatric outline includes areas such as biographical, occupational and social history, and daily routine. Tippiti brings statements scattered across the conversation together in the right place. More on the psychiatric report.

Other specialities

Whether the report concerns neurology, orthopaedics, personal injury or insurance medicine, Tippiti knows what matters in the case history and interview section of each field and writes it up accordingly. You do not need to select the exact speciality.

IV assessment report (Switzerland)

Swiss IV reports follow a prescribed set of headings. Tippiti uses that fixed outline and writes in Swiss Standard German. More on the IV assessment report.

How the report is written

Each section is checked against the verbatim transcript. The statements are carried over in full and in the formal register of the report.

Reported speech

From your perspective

The statements of the person being assessed are given in reported speech: “The examinee reports that he …”. Where the report calls for a direct quotation (a characteristic remark, for instance) it appears in the original wording.

Assignment

By topic, not chronology

Conversations jump around. Tippiti assigns each statement to the appropriate section of the outline, regardless of when it came up, and brings scattered statements on the same topic together, grouped rather than shortened. Contradictory statements are preserved faithfully too. For your assessment they are findings, not errors.

An independent AI validator[TOOLTIP] A different model runs a separate check for defined types of error, including spellings, place and postcode combinations, ICD plausibility and contradictions within the text.

Clinical judgements come from the clinician or medico-legal expert. The validator checks the text against the defined transcription and consistency criteria. [/TOOLTIP] checks every section against the verbatim transcript. Has every statement been carried over? Has anything been invented? Where gaps are found, the text is re-corrected and checked again.

If you dictate during the examination, for instance wording for the mental state examination, Tippiti recognises the switch and works the passage in at the appropriate place. When uploading, you can also add your own processing instructions and, if you wish, have Tippiti write up a closing summary.

Assessment interview & case history costs €1.50 per 1,000 characters of the finished text. That price reflects the full process of producing the text. The conversation is transcribed verbatim, then written up and organised into the outline for your speciality.

A case history and interview section of around 20,000 characters therefore costs €30.00. You are charged for the finished text, not the length of the recording or the duration of the examination.

The parts you prefer to dictate yourself, including findings, diagnosis and expert opinion, can be processed through Dictation mode.

How does Assessment interview & case history differ from Conversation & interview?

Both process recordings with several speakers, but the result differs:

  • Conversation & interview produces a transcript that retains the dialogue, either full verbatim, clean verbatim or summarised, with speaker labels.
  • Assessment interview & case history produces a report section: the statements made by the person being assessed are organised into a fixed structure and rendered in reported speech from the assessor’s perspective.

In short, Conversation & interview produces a transcript, while Assessment interview & case history writes up the case history and interview section.

Do I also receive the verbatim transcript of the conversation?

No. The verbatim transcript is used internally as the source for processing and validation. Tippiti first transcribes the entire conversation, uses it to draft the case history and interview section, and then validates that section against the transcript. You receive the completed report section.

Do I remain responsible for the assessment?

Yes. Tippiti drafts the case history and interview section, which records what the person being assessed reported.

You remain responsible for the clinical assessment, any assessment for insurance purposes, the diagnosis and the conclusions. Tippiti does not generate independent medical opinions.

How is the rest of the report produced?

You can dictate the sections that you formulate yourself (the review of records, clinical findings, assessment and so on) in Dictation mode at €0.50 per 1,000 characters. Assessment interview & case history produces the section derived from the recorded interview.

Both workflows use the same editor and Word export.

Is the mode also suitable for Medical Service reports and other specialities?

Yes. If a report for the German Medical Service (Medizinischer Dienst, formerly MDK) is based on a recorded assessment interview, Tippiti can use the recording to draft the structured case history and interview section. The same applies to psychiatric, neurological and orthopaedic reports, reports in accident insurance or social medicine, pension-related reports and Swiss IV assessment reports. The mode is suitable for any medical assessment based on a recorded interview.

When uploading, you select the report type: psychiatric report, another medical speciality or Swiss IV assessment report. Psychiatric reports use a standard outline, while Swiss IV reports follow their prescribed structure.
