Why the psychiatric history in particular takes so much work

The assessment interview produces a case history section that captures an entire life, rich in detail, set out in a fixed structure and written in the language of the report. Writing all of that up by hand is painstaking, time-consuming work.

Depth of detail

Every detail counts

Everything counts, from biography, family circumstances, education and gaps in the person’s life and work history through to the daily routine in fine detail. What seems incidental in the conversation can prove decisive for the assessment. Tippiti does not condense these details. Frequencies, durations, examples and reasons are all preserved.

Structure

The conversation jumps around

The conversation follows its own course, while the case history follows the outline. A remark about childhood may come up while discussing the person’s daily routine, but it belongs in the biographical section. Tippiti recognises these jumps and places every statement where the outline expects it. When the same topic comes up more than once, the statements are gathered in one place.

Register

The right tone

The section uses reported speech throughout, direct quotations where appropriate, a consistent way of referring to the person being assessed and standard psychiatric terminology. Tippiti maintains that register across the whole outline.

Tippiti creates the case history and interview section in the established structure used for psychiatric assessment reports and sorts the statements from the conversation into the right place. Tippiti clearly flags points not covered in the interview for review.

If you are preparing a report in another speciality or for a Swiss IV assessment, simply choose the appropriate report type when uploading. If you wish, Tippiti can also write up a closing summary. If the recording contains a dictated observation for the mental state examination, Tippiti recognises the switch and works it into the report. Tippiti also checks the spelling of AMDP terminology used in the mental state examination, including terminology relating to affect, drive and ego (boundary) disturbances.

The Assessment interview & case history mode costs €1.50 per 1,000 characters of the finished case history and interview section. A detailed section of 30,000 characters therefore costs €45.00. You pay for the text, not the length of the interview.

The price covers the whole process. Tippiti first transcribes the conversation verbatim, then uses that internal transcript to write the case history section according to the psychiatric report outline. The result is checked for completeness, with an automatic further correction pass if a statement is missing.

Frequently asked questions about the psychiatric report

Can AI be used to create a psychiatric medico-legal report?

Tippiti takes the statements made during the recorded assessment interview and organises them into the appropriate report structure.

The mental status examination, diagnosis, assessment of work capacity and expert conclusions remain your responsibility. Tippiti does not make independent medical statements or assessments. You dictate the remaining parts of the report as usual in Dictation mode.

Which recording should I upload?

Upload the audio recording of the assessment interview from your dictation device or smartphone. Tippiti supports all common formats, including DSS, DS2, MP3 and WAV. It uses the voices and conversational context to distinguish the assessor from the person being assessed.

Processing is carried out in accordance with the GDPR and is governed by a Data Processing Agreement. Your data is not used to train AI models. Further details are available on our Privacy & AI page.

Does the AI change what the person being assessed said?

No. Tippiti corrects transcription errors and spelling and converts the wording into reported speech, but it does not change the substance of the statements.

If the person gives conflicting information at different points, both statements remain in the text. Such discrepancies may be relevant to your consistency assessment and must not be reconciled automatically. The validation stage therefore compares every section with the verbatim transcript.

Can I dictate during the assessment interview?

Yes. You can also dictate after the interview while the recording is still running. For example, if you dictate observations for the mental status examination after the assessment interview, Tippiti recognises the transition from conversation to dictation.

If a dictated passage does not belong in the interview section, it is presented separately at the end. Statements made by the person being assessed remain part of the conversation. Only your own instructions are treated as dictation commands.

How is the case history section created automatically?

Tippiti first transcribes the assessment interview verbatim. It then organises the statements according to the psychiatric case history outline and renders them in the style of a medico-legal report.

The result is then checked against that internal transcript: has every statement been carried over, has anything been invented, are the quotations verbatim? If something is missing, another correction round follows automatically.

What does the case history section of a psychiatric report cost?

The case history and interview section costs €1.50 per 1,000 characters of the finished text. Billing is based on the completed section, not the length of the assessment interview.
